Weather map illustrating a hurricane...

The Gnome covers the coverage

When Hurricane Dennis hit the states, Chris Pirillo made an hilarious coverage of the media coverage of it. The parody is dead-on when it comes to the modern medias tendency to let sensationalism replace journalism.

The audio clip really captures the feel of how modern TV-journalism is covering war, accidents, nature catastrophes, etc. Obviously I have now idea whether Chris was actually criticizing the media coverage, covering the weather forecast or just goofing around, but at my end the clip is really a valid criticism of how modern TV news programming haw evolved.

A month after the fact...

Oh; I'm catching up on old podcasts and came across this in Adam Curry's DailySourceCode from the 11th of July 2005. So the this is nearly a month old news, Hurricane Dennis has died down and you may very well have heard this already. But it's a good parody, great media commentary and really worth a listen if you haven't already heard it...
